 Honest.

Anyway, that last entry depresses me every time I log in (these times are few and far between, but still) so here's a new one. I got a 9-5(ish) job, so I haven't been writing or drawing anything that isn't emails to solicitors and margin doodles.

But I'd like to.

And here's where you come in.

So, friends, Romans, countrymen, anyone still watching my journal (probably because you've forgotten I exist - don't worry, I did too for a while), I invite you to challenge me. Gimme something to write or draw. A song lyric, a picture, a scenario, a line of dialogue. Pull it from a hat, I don't care. Any fandom covered in this journal (or, hey, suggest another I might like), any character, no matter how minor (I <3 the ten-second appearances), any pairing, any plot (within reason).

I'll leave it with ya.

 So I'm back.

In a nutshell, I was about to fail the course when they gave me the option to withdraw and try again in a couple of years. I took it, of course, so now I'm at home playing housewife and just loving being able to put my feet up again.

There will be fanfic.

My RP site will live again.

My cat will no longer be lonely in the daytime.

Life is good.

Yeah, yeah, it's nearly November and the last thing I actually set my mind to was a cracky Rocky-Horror-centric bit of weirdness. There are plot bunnies sitting on the laptop imploring me to actually sit down and bloody write them, however there are also two weeks' worth of lesson plans waiting to be written and my sense of duty and needing to pass this year is (marginally) stronger than my impetus to write or have fun or do anything even remotely interesting. I'm not even going to a Halloween party (more's the pity), and dressing up is possibly my favourite activity evar.

Also, I'm being kicked out of my flat at the end of December and need to find a new place to live and arrange all the moving and packing and so on. Aiming to be moved out before Christmas, because I'd rather spend the festive season living out of half-unpacked boxes than half-packed ones. But all this does mean I've essentially entrusted my boyfriend with finding a suitable flat and arranging a viewing and actually managing to find it and all that palaver. So if I end up in a shithole I can eternally lay the blame at his door.

I was going to write some fic over half-term, but considering that was last week you can guess how well that went. Family stuff, house stuff, coursework stuff, and I'm still trying to learn the bloody Welsh vocabulary we were being taught in Bangor.

On a lighter note, it is 55 days til Christmas (yes, I started counting at 100, as per) and I'm making ever-so-fun lists in the five seconds of spare time I get every day.

Also in other news, I bought leather gloves and a navy blue scarf and a stripy jumper (yes, that kind of stripy jumper), and have so far managed to smuggle this under the b/f's 'pathetic' radar, despite watching TBB whilst wearing the damn thing, My fangirlishness knows no bounds. Well, technically it does, as I resisted spending god-knows-how-much on a girly Sherlock coat.

The clocks went back today, and I didn't realise until... well, now. Good lord is it really that early? It's a Sunday, the ideal lie-in time is 10am! Must get back to bed and catch up on sleep.

Rating: PG
Fandom: Sherlock
Word Count: 2000
Pairing: John/Sherlock (unrequited)
Warnings: Pretty much nothing but excruciating misery and angst. Spoilers for The Great Game (if there's a person left in this fandom who hasn't seen it).
Disclaimer: I don't own Sherlock, nor any permutation of it.
Summary: This is where I rise from the dead to rain misery on everyone's parade. Post-Great Game, John decides to come clean to Sherlock. It doesn't go quite as he expected.

So I've just done my first day of teaching practice. Forty-five children under the age of five, which sounds so super-cute and adorable until you realise they're... well... not. That might be a tad unfair, some of them were lovely, however to counteract that every single one of them was loud. Consistently. For six hours.

And one kid got jelly in his hair and another kid faceplanted the tarmac at break time and a little girl spilled her drink on the sofa in the play house and there were about three that could turn the tears on and off like a tap.

But God, I wouldn't want to be doing anything else.

(Apart from possibly continuing this Sherlock fanfic which is 1000 words and counting, but the two can coexist. Sort of. I think.)

Title: Overtime
Author: coryphaeusrex
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Sherlock
Word Count: 1667
Pairing: Lestrade/Dimmock
Warnings: A few very mild swear words, nothing majorly shocking.
Disclaimer: I don't own Sherlock, nor any permutation of it.
Summary: Day off on Tuesday + deep, abiding love of super-obscure pairings which have never even met in canon = this fic. It's Christmas, and Dimmock's still working while everyone else is partying. I am making up the tiny amount of policey stuff from the top of my head, so it's probably a billion miles from anything approaching realistic, but who cares?

Argh
Okay, so I'm moving (argh) to Wales (argh) tomorrow morning (double argh) and I've been packing and winding things up all day. My b/f has cried at least twice so far, which is so amazingly unusual it's effectively put me on edge and set the tone for the day. I'm terrified I'm going to forget something vital like my phone or my purse or my name.

Not to mention the internet or possible lack thereof. Given that I'm moving to some godforsaken point on the coast of the Irish Sea there may not be a strong enough wireless connection for me to hack into and get on the good ol' net. Which is depressing because having (finally) got my Sherlock DVD I was all set for making music videos and icons and generally getting tinhatty about who glanced whose way at a certain second in a certain episode. (All I'm really after is fuel for my John/Lestrade crusade). But now I might have to save it for half-hour lunch breaks in uni when I should really be doing work.

I've had to select all of seven DVDs and four books to take with me. I am going to go insane. And will possibly emerge at the end of the year capable of quoting The Road To El Dorado all the way through without messing up a line.

This is basically just a little note to sit at the top of my journal so people don't worry that I'm dead when I break my perfect record of writing/drawing something Sherlock-related every day. Which I will sorely miss if there's to be no internet for the next few months. :(
